Houses in the forest

Welcome to the world of MaeBee

Welcome to the Green Garden, a land filled with oddly magical folk, living together in harmony… sort of. At the centre of it all is Mae, a young gnome who dreams of being BIG, and her foster brother Bee, who dreams of being… a crab. Sometimes cheese. Depends what mood he’s in. Though Mae is very small (even for a gnome), she is MIGHTY!

About the Show

MaeBee is a show about a young gnome striving to fill her Book of BIG and eventually become a grown-up, with the ‘help’ (the word used very loosely) of her foster brother Bee!

It’s about close-knit, multigenerational family and friends, community and tradition, personal growth, diversity and a childlike curiosity to get out into the world – all mixed into a hearty stew of magical comedy-adventure.

Each episode dives into fantasy, myth and fairytale (both old and brand new), creating a world of magic and tradition for the audience to discover and embrace.

Meet Mae’s Family

Mae and her foster twin, Bee, live with their Ma-Mae (mum), a mural painter and often the voice of wisdom in a world of weirdness, and their grandparents, Grand-Mae and Granda-Bill, a pair of ancient gnomes filled with arcane wisdom and gardening tips!

Mae’s dad, Da-Nono, is a wandering gnomad, travelling the Green Garden in his bug-drawn cart of curios, calling in on Mae and Bee as often as he can.
